About Rob
Rob Janson grew up in real estate, with his family owning a successful independent brokerage in Bristol, Tennessee. Rob moved to Murfreesboro in 1997 to attend Middle Tennessee State University. After graduating he joined John Jones, helping to launch John Jones Real Estate in 2008. He went on to spend eight years working at MTSU, where he led the university's Strategic Communications team, before rejoining John Jones as Director of Marketing in 2019.
A seasoned professional in marketing, he is one of the nation's most sought after real estate marketing and technology trainers. He brings a broad skillset in photography; video production; event production; web and graphic design; and both digital and terrestrial marketing. Known for his innovative strategies and creative thinking, Rob has amassed a broad collection of industry awards and has been featured in numerous publications. Among his accolades, he was an honoree of Murfreesboro Magazine's 20 Under 40 Young Professionals and a 2024 recipient of an MTSU Outstanding Alumni Award.
Rob holds a Bachelors of Science degree focused in Public Relations & Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, supporting MT athletics, working on his always-broken vintage truck "Bertha" and performing with his two bands, Stones River Revival and The Xmas Cowboys.
